The Scottish accent has been named the 'most attractive' in the UK
New research has revealed the UK accents that the public finds the most and least attractive - and Scottish has come out on top.
With so many regional accents across the nation, everyone will have their own preference for what they like and dislike. However, it is no secret that the Scottish accent is popular with many people across the UK and beyond. The new study by experts at telecommunications company TollFreeForwarding seems to confirm this. In a survey they carried out among 2,000 members of the public, 15 per cent of respondents named Scottish as the most appealing in the UK.
Following behind are Queen's English and Geordie, which both received 13 per cent of the vote. Rounding out the top five are Northern Irish and Welsh, which 11 per cent and 10 per cent of respondents respectively cited as their favourite.View gallery The research also revealed the public's least favourite UK accents, with Mancunian, Brummie, and East Anglian all receiving just two per cent of the vote.
