Police are searching for a driver who allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle in Melbourne’s northern suburbs before fleeing the scene, leaving one woman dead and injuring three others.
Emergency services were called to Mahoneys Road in Thomastown about 1.10am on Sunday after an allegedly stolen Kia Cerato collided with a Mercedes-Benz SUV.
Detectives from the major collision investigation unit believe the driver of the Kia fled the scene before police arrived. Ambulance Victoria confirmed a woman in her 20s with upper body injuries was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious but stable condition.
