The car, a white Mercedes sedan, allegedly drove directly at the officer and struck him before fleeing the scene. 9News
Senior Constable Luke Zannier was conducting speed checks on Orange Grove Road in Salisbury, in Brisbane's south, and attempted to halt a car by walking onto the road, just before 6.30am.
Queensland Police Union Vice President Shane Prior has also visited Senior Constable Zannier and said initial tests are "really positive".Senior Constable Zannier is undergoing further medical assessment for his injuries, which have been deemed non-life-threatening. "Every time our police go out there they put their lives on the line, it's a dangerous job. We all take it very personally when they're hurt or when someone attacks them," Mr Ryan said.
