A major search for a light plane that crashed off the southeast Queensland coast with two people onboard is expected to resume today. 9News
About 4.30pm yesterday the Australian Maritime Safety Authority was alerted to a potential mayday involving the plane, an AMSA spokeswoman said in a statement.
It is understood the aircraft with two people aboard was travelling from Caloundra to a resort on the western side of Moreton Island. Multiple search and rescue agencies have been scouring this area after the plane, with two people on-board, vanished. Some debris was spotted in the water southeast of Cape Moreton, but it's unknown if it was part of the aircraft.
Yesterday's search included Volunteer Marine Rescue, Queensland Water Police and coastguard vessels, a rescue helicopter and five fishing trawlers.The search for the light aircraft that went missing in the Moreton Island area of south-east Queensland.will resume today.Related Articles
