After charging a man last year, police have now arrested a woman from Adelaide's south over the death of a newborn baby boy who was taken to hospital 'unresponsive' in April.

"The infant was unresponsive, unable to be revived and was pronounced deceased soon afterward," police said. The child's death was declared a major crime a short time later, sparking an investigation by detectives from Adelaide's south and from SA Police's major crime investigation branch. A 31-year-old Christie Downs man was arrested on June 18, and charged with manslaughter and criminal neglect.She was granted police bail, and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on March 31.
