Rebuilding the Gabba as Brisbane’s Olympic Stadium will now require the relocation of another school. Catchment maps will also be redrawn.
A school with more than 300 teachers and 3450 students - most online - will have to move to allow the relocation of East Brisbane State School to Coorparoo.
Brisbane’s School of Distance Education at Coorparoo has been confirmed s the new home for East Brisbane State School.The Coorparoo site is currently also home to the Brisbane School of Distance Education . However, it has been deleted from a new masterplan released this week as part of the East Brisbane consultation.as the state government came under pressure to find a home for East Brisbane State School, which has been at the centre of anti-Olympics protests.
