Jeremy Corbyn's campaign has been hit by highly damaging own goal after a key colleague was secretly recorded predicting that senior civil servants would have to "safeguard security" should the Labour leader move into Downing Street.

"If you doubt me, look at what his health spokesman said today, Jon Ashworth. He revealed that he thought his own leader is a security risk," Johnson told factory workers during a final campaign swing through the West Midlands.
