Shadow Indigenous Australians minister Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has told the Albanese government to 'move over', having dismissed calls from her federal counterpart to sit down and start a reconciliation process.

Jacinta Price has called on the Albanese government to"move over" after its"extremely disappointing" 12 months addressing Indigenous issues following the defeat of the Voice referendum.Shadow Indigenous Australians minister Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has told the Albanese government to"move over", having dismissed calls from her federal counterpart to sit down and start a reconciliation process.

“Thank goodness the No vote prevailed because the proponents of the Voice have still not been able to accept any responsibility for the failure of the proposal,” she said. “All of those people who were so passionate about improving the lives of indigenous Australians, well they can afford to go overseas and get away from October 14, while marginalised Indigenous Australians, who knew very little about what it was all about in the first place, are still suffering,” she said.

Indigenous Australians Minister Malarndirri McCarthy urged Ms Price to sit down with her one year on from the defeated Voice referendum to start a process of reconciliation. Ms Price said Labor had “dropped the ball” on funding rural schools, having pledged just $18 million of funding while Yipirinya School alone required $11 million to build a boarding facility.
