The Liberal Party senator and former major general in the Australian Army has died after an almost two-year battle with cancer.
Jim Molan, the Liberal Party senator for NSW and former army major general, has died after an almost two-yearHis family confirmed the 72-year-old’s death in a statement on Tuesday morning, stating he died peacefully with his family surrounding him. He leaves behind his wife Anne and four children.After a 40-year career in the Army, which included serving chief of operations for coalition forces in Iraq, Molan entered the senate in 2017.
In 2004, the veteran was deployed for a year to Iraq to serve as Chief of Operations for the new Headquarters Multinational Force in Iraq. The statement from Molan’s family said his health deteriorated after Christmas. He died in the arms of his family on Monday, the statement said.
