Allegations a senior Queensland doctor sexually harassed female staff and left them feeling like lambs to the slaughter are to referred for investigation, Health Minister Steven Miles says.

The letter details another case where, upon learning that a trainee was having fertility issues, the surgeon told her"you're too fat to get pregnant".

Ms Bates said she had written to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Office of the Health Ombudsman and called on Mr Miles to conduct a full and thorough investigation. Queensland Health also said it had a zero tolerance towards inappropriate behaviour in the workplace, but would not confirm if the doctor was being investigated.
