Tropical Cyclone Trevor is regaining momentum and is expected to hit the Northern Territory as a category 4 on Saturday after leaving a trail of destruction through far north Queensland.
The tail of the storm is expected to bring flooding rains to parts of the Top End and possibly south-west Queensland.
It comes as Cyclone Veronica closes in on the country's west coast, likely to escalate to a category 4 as it nears the Pilbara coast over the weekend. Authorities are warning residents to prepare an emergency kit as the storm draws nearer. Image: NASA Worldview
