A seven-year-old who was allegedly smothered, choked and sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her home in the Perth suburb of Ellenbrook, told police she was not sure if it was a 'nightmare or real'.
Callum Ferris Davies is on trial accused of breaking into the Ellenbrook home of a seven-year-old girl before choking and sexually assaulting her.
He is charged with impeding a person's breathing, indecent dealing with a child, sexual penetration of a child, deprivation of liberty and aggravated home burglary. He was then captured on CCTV footage looking over the side fence of the home, before leaving and returning to the property with a backpack.
In the girl's witness interview, she repeatedly tells the interviewer that was not sure if she "had a nightmare last night or it was real". The court was told the girl was examined by a medical doctor and a DNA sample matching Mr Davies was found on her and in her bedroom.
