Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor says he welcomes the recommendation for the Reserve Bank of Australia to be more transparent and accountable as it is ‘so crucial’ for Australians to know how they are affected.
“It has been a feature in the United States – but it hasn’t been a feature here, it is a very positive recommendation,” Mr Taylor said during a press conference on Thursday.
“So many decisions are being made in this country on the back of the decisions being made by the Reserve Bank. “Any kind of investment, when you buy a house, when you invest in a business – when you invest in your own education for that matter, you are making decisions that will be affected by the decisions of the Reserve Bank.”
