“I think in the end, the public would have appreciated the job that the men and women in the Shaker Heights Police Department are doing,” Hudson said. “What I don’t like is the using my agency as a pawn.” As for the possibility of hiring 35 social workers, licensed mental health clinicians and medics to serve on the force if the charter amendments passed, Hudson pointed to last week’s Shaker High“We sent 12 officers just to keep the peace,” Hudson said.
Vice Mayor Sean Malone believes the Framework will provide an opportunity to highlight the good work that the city’s law enforcement officers have been doing for years. Serving as council’s representative in the recent negotiations, Carmella Williams said she enthusiastically supports the Framework.
