Sharri Markson raises concerns about government’s ‘priorities’ as terror threat looms
Sky News host Sharri Markson has raised concern over the Albanese government's priorities, suggesting it is putting climate change over the threat of Islamic terror. "I told you recently the influence from the heads of our security agencies, including ASIO boss Mike Burgess and Australia's top spy Andrew Shearer, has been diminishing under the Albanese government," she said.
“And that Penny Wong, instead, is taking a leading and highly influential voice on national security. The tensions between the intelligence community and the Albanese government are coming to the surface." Ms Markson said it's"highly unusual" for there to be tension between government and the intelligence community. “The focus of security agencies is protecting Australia from the main threats, which ASIO outlined are Islamic terror and Chinese foreign interference. “But the left-wing Albanese and Penny Wong don't want to talk about these issues, they rarely, if ever, mention Islamic terror or speak about Beijing in critical terms.”
