David Crisafulli is on track to return the Liberal National Party to government in Queensland after almost a decade of Labor power, according to the final Newspoll.
Support for Premier Steven Miles has risen, but it could all be a little too late for Labor with just one day until the majority of Queensland ers head to the polls to decide its next leader.
Premier Steven Miles has been making ground on the LNP in the final week of the Queensland election campaign, but it could be a little too late for Labor. Picture: Adam Head Elsewhere in the primary vote, Labor has jumped three points to 33 per cent and the LNP remained the same on 42 per cent, compared to the last Newspoll.
Mr Crisafulli dropped four points to 42 per cent after criticism of his small-target strategy with a big focus on youth crime, a key issue for the state, but failing to elaborate on topics such as abortion, only conceding this week he is pro-choice. Mr Miles is taking a lot of momentum into Friday, the last day of campaigning, but it could be too late given up to 1.3 million early votes may have already been cast.
