Six males, aged between 17 and 21 years old, have been arrested in connection with the December shooting of an 18-year-old in Adelaide 's north. Police stated that the 18-year-old was shot through a closed bedroom window, but allege that the teenager was not the intended target. Authorities believe the incident stemmed from the suspects mistakenly targeting the wrong address .
Acting Assistant Commissioner John DeCandia revealed that three shots were fired from two different firearms, one of which was recovered near the scene shortly after the shooting on December 16th. He emphasized that it was established early in the investigation that the perpetrators had attended the wrong address and shot an individual with no connection to them whatsoever. The victim has since made a full recovery, with Assistant Commissioner DeCandia expressing relief that the teenager only sustained a leg wound. The six individuals were denied bail and are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. Police conducted searches at seven addresses today, resulting in the discovery of a firearm suspected of being involved in previous shootings. A significant quantity of tablets suspected of containing MDMA was also found. One of the 17-year-olds faces additional charges for possessing a regulated firearm and related ammunition offenses. The 21-year-old is also charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug
