Tyler Sullivan, who was 20 when he crept into his victim’s bedroom, will serve just 12 months in jail, with the judge raising concerns over his safety in jail.

A man who raped a child he met online has been sentenced to 12 months in jail, with the judge raising concerns that his “slight and childlike appearance” would make him a target for sexual predators in prison.

The victim’s mother, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, said her daughter had just turned 12 and was in primary school when she was abused.“This is a kid that was playing netball, grade six, her last year of school looking forward to starting high school, doing kid things.” The judge also noted he had considered Sullivan’s safety in prison ahead of handing down the sentence.

Sullivan was sentenced to 12 months, which will mean just 11 months behind bars as he’s already served one month in custody. From July next year, he will have to obey a three-year community corrections order, meaning he can serve the time at home.

Mr Houghton said ABC veteran Russell Skelton, married to the ABC’s Virginia Trioli, heads the division at RMIT FactLab. “And they seem to be just targeting views of people who are against the Voice which goes against all the rules, goes against everything that we’ve been promised and it doesn’t appear to be very independent at all. “There was a period of time between May and June where we analysed 17 checks that they did and all of the 17 Voice checks were checking semantics or slight verbal missteps or just comments from people that don’t want the Voice to go ahead.”

‘Shocked’: Greek fertility clinic faces child trafficking allegations‘Shocked’: Greek fertility clinic faces child trafficking allegationsMonash Family Planning Service Director Nicholas Lolatgis says he is “shocked” by the child trafficking allegations made against an internationally renowned surrogacy clinic in Crete. “I have sent a lot of patients to Crete and the success rate has been great,” Dr Lolatgis told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “I’ve got a couple over there who are getting visitation rights to see their baby that was delivered just a little while ago, but that’s only for five minutes. “I’ve actually written to the team in Crete asking for some compassion here, to allow her to at least hold the baby and cuddle it and have skin-to-skin contact which is so important in the development of any newborn.”
