A Review article published in Thyroid Research assesses the incidence of thyroid cancer in patients with solitary thyroid nodule (STN) and multinodular goiter (MNG) and reports a greater risk of cancer in STN patients.

• International Trial Registers: International Clinical Trials Registry Platform , ClinicalTrials.gov.A combination of keywords and Mesh terms like “Multinodular goiter”, “Goiter, Nodular’’, “Thyroid Neoplasms” was used to search the databases. The complete search strategy of MEDLINE is provided in the supplementary file. The same search strategy was followed for the other databases. No filter of language, time and study design was used in order to retrieve the maximum literature.
