Six people, including a couple from Kangaroo Island and another pair who crossed fields to enter the state from Victoria, have been arrested and charged after separate breaches of South Australia's COVID-19 restrictions.
All six were charged with breaching directions laid out in South Australia's Emergency Management ActIn a statement, SA Police said the six people had all breached the state's Emergency Management Act in various ways.
SAPOL said the couple, a 64-year-old-man and a 64-year-old woman, entered South Australia from NSW on September 3, using a "minor road" south of Broken Hill.A couple caught the Sealink Ferry home to Kangaroo Island after entering SA from New South Wales. A 29-year-old Port Noarlunga man made an application to return from Victoria on August 26, which was declined.
He was found and arrested at the home before being taken to the City Watch House, where he was charged.After returning a negative COVID-19 test, the man is now undertaking home quarantine under what SAPOL described as "a tight compliance regime".In another instance on September 2, police stopped a car crossing fields near Penola, in the state's south-east, entering SA from Victoria.
