Spanish officials have warned about the risk of dengue fever
The Spanish holiday hotspot of Ibiza has issued a warning to holidaymakers about a "moderate" risk of dengue fever this summer.
Spain's Ministry of Health said in a statement: "One of the potential vectors of dengue is the Aedes albopictus mosquito, present throughout the area, the Spanish Mediterranean and the Balearic Islands and also in some areas of the interior and north of the country. One confirmed case among the German tourists in Ibiza was a 27-year-old woman who was in Ibiza last August with her partner and their 14-month-old daughter. All three had symptoms on August 31, but tests were only performed on the woman who was then diagnosed with dengue.
