Veteran newsreader Sharyn Ghidella has detailed her next steps after she was suddenly sacked from Channel Seven, revealing she still has as"much enthusiasm and hope" as when she started her career almost four decades ago.
The mother-of-two also plans to continue her work with charity ambassadorships, including her role on the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Foundation board. The 58-year-old said she was"saddened" when, sitting at the hairdressers, she received a call from Seven’s management informing her that her time was up with the network.
"I don’t think I would have been capable of going back on air and reading out a statement about the love that I have for our viewers. Her sudden departure from Channel Seven Brisbane sent shockwaves through households across Queensland, with viewers quick to share their disappointment on social media.
