South Australian Education Minister Blair Boyer has announced his plans to prosecute parents who keep their children home from school. 7NEWS
WATCH THIS VIDEO: Education Minister announces truancy prosecution plansThe minister requested “potential cases of successful prosecution” when he came into office, and believes multiple cases will soon be ready for his review.
“The first step is seeing how these prosecutions progress and whether they are successful,” Boyer told 7NEWS.com.au. This includes children, young people and families who are identified as at-risk of non-attendance, where there are complex student and family needs and where there are other barriers to their attendance.
