Police have issued a public appeal for information on a 33-year-old man after a fatal hit-and-run in outback Queensland.The car associated with the incident was found but the driver remains at largePolice say a red Holden Commodore rammed into two pedestrians on a main road in Mount Isa about 10pm Sunday, killing a 27-year-old Northern Territory man and critically injuring a 29-year-old Northern Territory man who on Thursday was in a stable condition at the Mount Isa Hospital.

Police reinforcements from Cairns and Townsville have travelled to Mount Isa for a homicide investigation.Detective Inspector Sonia Smith on Thursday said police were keeping an open mind about where the driver could be.Alleged targeted attack "The suspect and victims were known to each other," Mount Isa police district officer Superintendent Tom Armitt said during a press conference on Monday.
