Sky News host Paul Murray says don’t be fooled into thinking 400 AFL officials, players, and family members quarantining in Brisbane is “anything other than” a holiday.

Brisbane was officially declared the location for the AFL Grand Final on Wednesday, with 400 league personnel flying to Brisbane on Tuesday for the announcement. Unlike the hotel quarantine facilities provided to citizens crossing back into Queensland, who have to pay, the AFL group was taken to a four star resort in Carrara.

“Australian politicians think you're stupid,” Mr Murray said. “You apparently are supposed to think that hotel quarantine for 400 people from the AFL is exactly the same as hotel quarantine for people who are able to cross the border, where you are in a one room hotel, fed slop, and you’re not allowed to leave the room. “They’re on holidays, don’t pretend it’s anything other than that.”
