Forecasters are keeping an eye on two storm systems, one that will bring rain and the other that might bring a mix of rain, snow and freezing rain to the Garden State.

But the calm may soon be cut short by a stormy weather pattern, with rain, snow and an icy mix possibly heading our way this week., the first of which will bring light rain showers Tuesday afternoon that will become more steady Tuesday night and linger into Wednesday morning.
That period of nice weather, however, will likely be short-lived because another storm system is expected to work its way across the Ohio Valley and into the New Jersey region. And that storm could bring snow to some parts of the Garden State, rain to other areas and possibly a mix of rain, snow and sleet late Thursday and early Friday, forecasters say.
“There certainly is the potential for a wintry mix for at least parts of our area, and if the colder guidance is correct then a period of accumulating snow could occur mainly north of the I-78 corridor,” the weather service’s Mount Holly office said in a“If the surface low however tracks right over our area, this would result in milder air across at least the southern areas and more of a wintry mix/ice across the northern areas ,” the office added.
Forecasters are keeping an eye on a late-week storm system that could bring a mix of rain, snow and freezing rain to the New Jersey region late Thursday, Feb. 24, into early Friday, Feb. 25.But before then, New Jerseyans can enjoy a Presidents Day with sunshine and afternoon temperatures rising into the mid- to upper 50s across most of New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service’s latest forecast for Monday.
