“The sentiment of it waswould have some attributes, positive attributes, that are relevant to the role,” he said.
“I said, ‘Need I ask about Ms West?’” she told the inquiry. She said he replied: “No, I don’t think that’ll work, will it.” On Wednesday Brown told the inquiry she did not believe that Ayres had been at “arms-length” from the hiring process. During the hearing Brown was forthright about her “nervousness” at the potential for Barilaro to be appointed.
