Animal foster carer Hayley Draper says she is making the most of every day with a dog that was given six months to live.

Daisy has a number of mast cell tumours and has been highly medicated, but Ms Draper said the dog was "completely oblivious" to it all. Sunraysia Animal Rehousing Group, which is run by volunteers, last month posted to Facebook pleading for more foster carers."Coming into winter everybody sort of puts the breaks on, but sadly the request for surrenders does not stop," she said.
"I feel like I'm the lucky one really, being able to have these animals in my home and being able to take care of them," she said.Ms Theil said there were a lot of factors that could deter people from fostering, including the misconception that all foster dogs were "untrained dogs that will never get a home".
