The Beltway Bible author and commentator Eliot Nelson says the decision of the American Supreme Court to remove women’s rights to abortion could be “one of the biggest inflection points in US political history”.
“If the court does follow through on this ruling as we, one, suspect that it will, one could really witness a seismic shift of women voters and indeed anyone in this country with even a base level notion of feminism leave the Republican Party,” he told Sky News Australia.
Mr Nelson said the south of America would like to see the 1972 Roe v Wade ruling overturned, and it was a result of “decades of groundwork by conservative activists”.
