A survey out of the United States has revealed almost 40 per cent have used cleaning products as a COVID-19 preventative.

The survey, conducted by the Centre of Disease Control and Prevention, revealed respondents engaged in at least one high risk practice not recommended by the CDC.

Among the group of 500, 19 per cent used bleach on food items, 28 per cent used household cleaning products on their skin, six per cent inhaled vapour from cleaning products and four per cent gargled or ingested bleach. Image: AP
