A suspect in a public shooting in Western Sydney is believed also to be the same person caught setting themselves alight in an attempt to burn a car a short distance away.
A man has set himself alight in an attempt to destroy a car in the Western Sydney suburb of Carramar.
One of the men was caught on camera attempting to set fire to a vehicle, setting himself alight in the process and running from the scene to a nearby creek. Emergency crews were called to Chrisholm Road in Auburn shortly after 3pm on Wednesday following reports of the shooting. Detective Superintendent Rob Toynton said investigators were treating the two incidents as connected.
