Sydney residents and visitors alike celebrated Christmas Day with sunny skies and warm temperatures, enjoying beach days and festive gatherings.

There was barely a patch of grass to be seen at Bronte Beach in the Eastern suburbs where a sea of red and white stretched from the grass to the ocean.British backpackers flocked to the beach for a different Christmas than they're used to. Lottie Byrne 21, Jessica Davies 27, Jodie Sharpe 27, Lucy Titchen 29, Nathan Spence 23 and Matt Titchen 30 celebrated December 25 there.Temperatures in Sydney peaked at 27 degrees, perfect for a swim.
