Sky News Meteorologist Rob Sharpe described the"elevated fire danger" with temperatures in Sydney set to soar to 30C on Friday. “And we’ve got that elevated fire danger, so high fire danger for Sydney and the Illawarra, like we saw a few times earlier this week and late last week.” "Most of the state is expecting six to 12C above the average for this time of year,” Ms Johnson said in the Bureau of Meteorology's latest forecast.It comes after the release of AFAC’s Seasonal Bushfire Outlook for spring which warned of increased fire risk for many parts of Australia.
