Sydney Water has defended the city’s drinking water after it confirmed the presence of cancer-linked “forever chemicals” at water filtration plants.

Pressed on whether Aussies should be concerned the water would fail to meet the US safety level, Ms Power stressed again that Sydney’s water meets Australian standards. Picture: Nine “As a result of the testing that Sydney Water has recently done, we’re certainly doing further investigations so that we can provide the most up-to-date information to New South Wales Health and to Sydney Water around and determine the best way to manage these risks,” he said.
