BREAKING - A state of emergency has been declared in NSW for the next seven days as bushfire conditions are set to worsen.
Sunshine Coast residents whose homes were threatened by a volatile bushfire are not out of the woods yet.
Early on Thursday the fire was moving northwest near Peregian Springs Drive, the Sunshine Motorway, Doonan Bridge Road North and Grays Road.The Peregian Springs area has been hit hard by fires, with some residents forced to evacuate for the third time in as many months.Another dangerous fire continues to burn on multiple fronts at Lowmead near Gladstone.
Firefighters will continue to work with heavy machinery and water bombing aircraft to contain the fire today.
