Sydney’s mayor has revealed she has been in talks with the government about giving people free rides on buses and trains if they do one thing.

Speaking to the media following Friday’s Summer Summit – designed to reviliatise Sydney’s outdoor dining and events scene ahead of summer – Clover Moore said one of the key discussion points was free transport for mask wearers.

“If we can make the most of people coming out and enjoying the beautiful climate in our beautiful city, we will be able to achieve that working together - the city and government.”Source:AAP But that figure had climbed to up to 60 per cent at some main transport hubs such as Central Station, he confirmed weeks later.

“We want people to come back and we want them to come back in a safe way. Public transport is crucial to that,” he said.
