Sculpture is a side hustle for Sydney psychiatrist Margaret Sheridan, whose work is featuring at the world's biggest art event.

Margaret Sheridan will soon retire and be able to put more time into her sculpting. An 85-year-old psychiatrist from Sydney is exhibiting her sculpture work at the Venice biennale. The world-famous art event has been running in the Italian city since April this year. Margaret Sheridan 's life-sized sandstone sculpture of a woman broke in two after being blown over in the wind a couple of years ago.

Sheridan then did what any good artist would do. Using special glue for sandstone, she put all the pieces back together and named it Fallen Woman.Supplied: MonumentSculpture.orgNow Fallen Woman has risen again, featuring in a garden of sculptures at the Venice Biennale. The artwork is meant to represent confidence and intuitiveness, and encourages women to "be sincere about them and feel a sense of freedom to be themselves," according to a statement on the artist's website.Displaying in Venice is a crowning achievement for Sheridan, although she isn't a full-time artist.

They were presented by ArtPark Australia to the European Cultural Centre, which subsequently gave permission for the sculptures to be presented in the garden just 200 metres from the country pavilions.)
