Sydney temperatures plummeted this week with the city shivering through its coldest day in five years.
Yesterday, the highest temperature was at Sydney's Observatory Hill weather station, measuring just 13.4C at 2:23pm.Parts of Australia are set to shiver through sub-zero temperatures this weekend with an Antarctic blast letting the east coast know winter is well and truly here. It was also the coldest day in five years for Bankstown , Horsely Park , Canterbury and Olympic Park .
"We've just had a cold front move through the south-east so leaving in the wake of that a very cold air mass," Mr Browne said.
