The 73-year-old died at Prince of Wales Hospital in the city's eastern suburbs at 7.25am this morning, a Corrective Services NSW spokeswoman confirmed.
"As a matter of protocol, Corrective Services NSW and NSW Police investigate all deaths in custody regardless of the circumstances.," the spokeswoman said in a statement.Michael Guider, the serial paedophile who was convicted of drugging and killing Sydney schoolgirl Samantha Knight, has died in custody. Samantha Knight went missing from Bondi in 1986 and was later found to have been killed.
Guider was sentenced to 17 years in prison for the death of the nine-year-old after more than a decade of police investigations.before he was put back behind bars in 2022 for breaching his supervision order. Guider has never displayed remorse for his crime or provided information about where he dumped Samantha's body.
