The inaugural Brand Finance City Index surveyed 15,000 people around the world about the best cities based on seven key dimensions.
While Sydney topped the list of best cities to live, its position in other fields put it at fifth overall.Click through to see the top 20.Boston placed 20th on the list. The city's ranking reflects the many top universities there, including Harvard and MIT.Milan placed 19th on the list. The city in Northern Italy is famed for its high culture and fashion scene.Participants of the survey were asked about the best cities to live, study, visit and invest in.
But it was marked harshly on the familiarity rankings, and ended up in 17th place overall as a result.
