When Sharee Jobanputra saw the news yesterday morning she decided that taking the day off would be easier than attempting the commute from Parramatta into the city without trains.
“I had to set an alarm at 2am to check the train schedule to know whether I could work from the office today or not,” he said.Mr Charlton said he’s lucky his job in HR allowed him to work from home yesterday as without trains, “it would have been impossible”.“It’s not good enough, if we’d had notice it’d be a different story,” he said.
“There was a lot of things said yesterday that should never have been. There should have been a proper conversation. We should have all been told straight away.”LoadingAhead of a meeting with Transport Minister David Elliott this morning, Mr Claassens said he was hopeful the minister would “do the right thing.”
Locations which may be affected include Gosford, Penrith, Parramatta, Campbelltown, Toronto, Morisset, Wyong, The Entrance, Woy Woy, Kulnura, Springwood, Nyngan, Cobar, Louth and Tilpa. Crews arrived at the house in Kobina Avenue shortly after 5.30pm and battled the blaze as it took hold in the roof while preventing flames from spreading to neighbouring homes.
NSW Transport Minister David Elliott said he had been advised by Sydney Trains that 25 per cent of services were operating on Tuesday.Asked whether he was sorry for the role he had played, Mr Elliott agreed with the suggestion put to him that “both sides were at fault”.
