A woman has been accused of stealing food and drink donations meant for volunteer firefighters in a break-in at a Sydney supermarket on Christmas Day

Police say a Sydney woman will face court, accused of stealing items donated to volunteers of the NSW Rural Fire Service on Christmas Day.

The 37-year-old allegedly broke into a Schofields supermarket about 3.40pm on Wednesday and stole food, SIM cards and a trolley ofNSW Police Force officers arrived on the scene a short time later and attempted to stop the woman and a 48-year-old man as they drove away from the scene. Police allege the woman continued driving, requiring the PolAir helicopter to take over the pursuit.RFS crews remain on high alert throughout NSW.
