The Systems Engineer: Microsoft Cloud Services plays a vital role in maintaining the stability and security of the IT server infrastructure across the organization. This role focuses on optimizing, securing, and aligning Azure infrastructure with business needs. Responsibilities include recommending, deploying, and supporting both in-house and outsourced server, storage, messaging, and backup/archive technologies.

The Systems Engineer: Microsoft Cloud Services is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the IT server infrastructure across the entire organization in order to maintain high levels of availability and security. This role is crucial for ensuring our Azure infrastructure is optimized, secure, and aligned with our technical design and business needs.

The Systems Engineer will recommend, confirm, install, support, and deploy in-house managed server, storage, messaging, and backup/archive technology. Additionally, they will recommend, confirm, and liaise for outsourced server, storage, messaging, and back-up/archive technology hosted within private and public cloud. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure resource administration, monitoring, performance management, and security. The role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and solving technology issues (both remotely and on-site) received via email, phone, and in-person. This includes identifying issues, proposing solutions, and testing new technologies or process changes. The Systems Engineer will track and thoroughly detail technology issues through a ticketing system and update and maintain the technology knowledgebase with customer-facing content as well as internal troubleshooting content. The Systems Engineer will provide administration for various technologies, including Microsoft Azure and other public cloud services, handle pricing and cost management (Azure Resource Administration), implement monitoring solutions to track and improve system performance (Azure Monitoring and Performance), ensure secure handling and storage of sensitive information (Secrets Management), implement and manage backup solutions for Azure resources (Backup Management), and define and standardize procedures and automated mechanisms to ensure the availability, reliability, security, and scalability of desktop and environments.Must have 5 – 7 years hands-on IT infrastructure support experience. A Matric plus a Bachelors’ Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent qualification is preferred. Proven excellence in customer service, interpersonal, and customer-facing skills is essential. The role may require working outside of normal business hours, including occasional holidays, evenings, and weekends.Proven experience as an Azure Solution Engineer, troubleshooting complex technical problems and implementations is required. Experience using PowerShell for scripting and automation, extensive knowledge of Microsoft products (Azure Infrastructure, Web Apps, and Dynamics 365), Azure Solution Architecture knowledge, and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues and eliminate those repetitive issues both on-site and remotely are all highly desirable skills
