A driving assessor who indecently assaulted three women while they were in the car with him will be allowed to remain on a Perth council.
Tamak Vijay was convicted of three counts of indecently touching women as he assessed them during driving tests.
Tamak Vijay was this week convicted of three counts of indecently touching women during driving tests when he was their assessor with the Department of Transport in February.It said under the current Local Government Act, Vijay could resume his position because he did not receive a prison sentence.The city confirmed it had been in contact with Councillor Vijay to understand whether he planned to return, but his intentions are unknown.
During the trial, the court heard from the victims, with one describing Vijay as "touchy" and the magistrate said she was "steadfast" that he'd touched her at least three times without consent.
