Tasmania's confirmed coronavirus cases rise by nine to 107.
Three of the newly diagnosed people are healthcare staff who have worked at the North West Regional Hospital or the North West Private Hospital , or both.Four of the cases are patients who have recently received care at both NWRH and NWPH. These patients are now being cared for in the NWRH.One is from southern Tasmania and eight are from the north-west.Another case is a close contact of a previously identified case.
Director of Public Health Mark Veitch said Public Health Services was deploying three staff, including a field epidemiologist, public health physician and public health nurse to support the Outbreak Management Team."The Outbreak Management Team is already identifying and contacting persons who had close contact with these staff and patients and will ensure necessary actions are taken," Dr Veitch said.
"It may be necessary for other staff and patients to be tested for coronavirus as investigations progress. We will assess and test any symptomatic staff member or patient."
