Work by the four shortlisted artists will go on display today
The Turner Prize has returned to Tate Liverpool with an exhibition of work by the four shortlisted artists.
The Turner Prize winner will be awarded £25,000 while the shortlisted artists will receive £10,000. The famed Albert Dock venue will now host an exhibition of their work, opening to the public on October 20 where it will remain until March 19, 2023.The winner of the Turner Prize will be announced on December 7, 2022. The annual Turner Prize aims to promote and encourage debate about contemporary British art.
Tate Liverpool was the first gallery outside London to host the prize all those years ago, returning in April with what Helen Legg, director of Tate Liverpool and co-chair of the Turner Prize jury, described as "what feels like a delayed Turner Prize but also a celebration". Like many events and experiences, the prize felt the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
