Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue discusses Prince Harry’s ongoing dispute with the UK Home Office over police protection amid reports the Duke of Sussex may leverage Taylor Swift’s high-profile security case to strengthen his own legal battle.
Ms Krakue argued Taylor Swift’s recent police escort in London wouldn’t help the Duke of Sussex’s case, noting that the pop star’s situation was unique due to terrorist threats and government influence.
“This is not something that I think Prince Harry can successfully argue because, with all due respect, he’s not a pop star facing terrorist threats in Austria,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. “He is a man who left the Royal Family knowing that this would likely compromise his security. And he hasn’t lost his police protection, which, you know, we need to clarify. He gets it on a case-by-case bespoke basis.
“He somehow thinks that the Metropolitan Police should be on standby for when he and his family feel the urge to come to the UK. And that’s just not how it works.”
