Police claim the 17 and 19-year-olds broke into two homes in Keysborough about 1.30am today and unsuccessfully tried to enter another before attempting to carjack police officers, who were in an unmarked car.

The two teens, from Noble Park in Melbourne's south-east, were arrested after a short pursuit and are expected to appear in court today. Police said the alleged offenders were armed with a weapon when they gained entry to an address in Annabelle Boulevard, Keysborough, about 1.30am. The four people home at the time, aged 39, 36, eight and four-years-old, and were not physically injured during the incident. They said they were not confronted by the offenders.Police allege the teens then attempted to gain entry to an address in Keylana Drive, Keysborough, about 1.40am but were unsuccessful, before gaining entry to a neighbouring house about 1.50am.
