The weekend will be sunny and rain-free, but with highs only in the low 40s, forecasters said.

Friday will be another sunny and dry day in the midstate, but with temperatures that are about 10 degrees chillier than the day before.is calling for mid 40-degree highs Friday, and low 40-degree highs all weekend.

Friday has a chance of rain until about 10 a.m. — at which point the sun will start to emerge, forecasters said. More than 20 mph wind gusts are possible Friday. Although temperatures will be colder than they’ve been all week, they will still be well above freezing point Sunday during a chance of afternoon rain and snow. Forecasters said showers could start in the late afternoon.

Snow could continue overnight Sunday into Monday as temperatures drop to around 32, forecasters said.
