Once again, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian won't name a starting QB prior to game day, but...

So just as he’s done the past two weeks, ever since redshirt freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered a sternoclavicular strain in the first quarter against Alabama, Sarkisian will hold off on naming a starter until game day. But internally, there’s genuine hope Ewers, who started Texas’ first two games prior to injury, could either start or get on the field Saturday night against West Virginia at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

For Sarkisian, who starts against WVU boils down to a matter of who will be able to tolerate the pain and hit the sort of explosive plays that have largely absent from the passing game this season.
